Born in Finland in 1992, William spent his early years between the UK and Finland.

His early fascination with technology led him to begin programming at the age of 11 and incorporated a small business 2 years later. By 15, the company had grown enough to require his full-time attention, and he left school to run it—an experience that shaped much of his approach to entrepreneurship.

After eight years as CEO and a successful exit from the business, William devoted himself to supporting other young entrepreneurs as an early stage investor. Today he leads Trifecta, a private investment firm focused on early-stage enterprises. He has backed more than 100 ventures across diverse sectors, including Saicho, Krua and Crusade, and enjoys working closely with founders to help them scale their businesses.

In 2013, William was honoured to be named Finland’s EY Entrepreneur of the Year and later joined the World Entrepreneur of the Year Academy. He later completed the three-year Harvard Business School’s Owner/President Management program, becoming the youngest-ever alumnus from HBS.

He remains committed to encouraging young entrepreneurs and is a long-time member of the Young Presidents’ Organisation (YPO).William lives with his wife and soon-to-arrive child, and enjoys spending time together reading, hiking, sailing and cooking.

He is currently translating the Finnish-language biography of his great-great-grandfather, Eduard Polón, founder of Nokia.
